Golden Cupids hotel has an enviable quiet and friendly atmosphere and is surrounded by flowering, trees, fish ponds and tropical gardens. The hotel is situated at Mae Joe village which is 7 miles north of Chiang Mai city centre and well away from traffic, noise and pollution.
Mae Joe is a large village with temples, University, post office, 7-11 mini market, a wet market, 4 banks and about 50 other local shops. All within 2 -10 mins walking distance.
World famous handicraft shopping is available for guests and wholesale business at San Kham Peang and Tawai village. Visits are available as local or private tours.

5. How can we visit all the local sites of interest?
Answer : The hotel will be pleased to arrange tours or visits.
For most sites guests can choose to travel by local tour operator minibus from the hotel or ask for private tours with English speaking driver available at 1,300 THB half day or 1,800 THB per car full 8 hr day.
6. What is the ideal length of stay in Chiang Mai?
Answer : Some of our guests return for 3-4 months each year, but for a first time visit most people can fully occupy a 2-4 week stay.
7. Is there a good golf course in Chiang Mai?
Answer : There are 5 noted courses in the area, one of the best is in Mae Joe. Green fees are about 2,000 THB/ round and all other services are available at sensible hire costs – the hotel can book transport and tee times to suit guests needs.
8. Is the hotel children friendly?
Answer : Most children enjoy the hotel, but are expected to behave without disturbing other guests. Parents are requested to supervise and control children at all times and especially around the swimming pool. There is plenty of safe adjoining land where parents can take children for ball games, badminton, football and noisy sports.
9. Are there walks up into the mountains?
Answer : From the hotel there are country and village walks – for hiking and mountain trekking transport is available to suitable areas 7 miles away.

10. Is Mae Joe a safe area at night?
Answer : Yes, probably one of the safest areas anywhere. Local people are friendly, there is very little crime and many leave doors and window open or without locks year round. However, we do recommend first time visitors to beware pirate taxi's at the airport.
11. What is the weather like in Mae Joe?
Answer : Mae Joe and Chiang Mai have unique weather year round because of protection by mountains to the east, north and west, the season are roughly divided into 3 periods.
Cool season : November – February
Usually 8 hrs sunshine with day temps of 30๐C and night 15 ๐ C
Summer season : March - May
Invariably 8 hrs sunshine with day temps of 35/40๐C and night 15- 20 ๐C
Rainy season : June – September
Unique to this area 90% of rain falls at night between 17.00 and 09.00 hrs. Day time rain may be as little as 3 days per season, some days can be over cast, but often have 6-7 hrs sunshine with day temps usually 25/30๐C and night time at 15 ๐C. Humidity is pleasingly low year round.
Not usually noted in guide books, the Chiang Mai rainy season is favoured by many expats and experienced travellers and considered one of the most pleasant times of the year.
